I am new to veiled Chameleons but have been reading as much as I can about them,I bought a female Veiled about 3 weeks ago and I beleive she is about 5-7 months old . A few days ago I noticed she was hanging from the tree upside down and scratching at the dirt.there is 2 small spots that u can tell she tried digging in but I think its too hard and or the area will be too small for her to tunnel enough to lay her eggs, I have since made a container filled eco earth and moistened it enough so it wont colapse but she does not seem interested in it or wont use it ,I still occasionally see her hanging in the spot over the potted tree but is not making any headway in the digging.
So my questions are.
*About how long would she have to lay the eggs before problems arise
*Should I keep letting her try to dig in the potted plant (its roughly 6 inches deep and 10 inches round but has three small trees sprouting from the middle
*should I have her looked at by the Vet yet or is it still early ?
*any other recomendation on my setup
Basking spot is 90-95f
bottom-center is 68-75
Reptisun uvb 5.0
lots of foilage including a golden pothos
Umbrellea tree and cant remember name of the tree she is trying to dig in,But it was a safe one from what I read.
if you need more info let me know .
