The New Setup

After much helpful advice, I have my setup about finalized.

He is finally drinking(when I drown him a bit,"mist" is a figure of speech:D)and eating roaches set in front of him, but seems to have trouble finding the feeding station. I added a second small one after the photo right near the basking area.

I'm also thinking of adding a 2.0 light for the plants plus to light up the whole cage a bit more.

175 Reptarium.
Repti Glo 10.0 UVB
Standard 100 Watt for basking
Artificial vines.
Ficus
Porthos
Wheeled cart for weekend walks outside.

What do you guys think?

Arghhhh!!! free roaming roaches!!! (screaming and pointing at the cage from 200 feet away)
:D :D
is that red thing on the far right in the second picture a cockroach?
Sorry.. my old blataphobia habit kicks in..
It looked great, Lloyd..

Home depot sells a light (linier like UVB bulb is) that is specially for indoor plant growth. We use one it hangs directly over the entire cage above basking and UVB bulbs, it works great, I believe it is 22 inches?

I bought my Plant light at Walmart for 9.97, its 24 inches. A bulb alone was 5.97 so I figure I might as well get the figure. Its under cabiney mountable but I just attached it to the pvc on the side of my cage (same one you have).

You can see the plant light midway down (cord comes out but thats where I just have the zippers meet). I tried to post the pic but apparently Photobucket has now been deemed as having viruses and my comp wont allow me to access it (???)

Looks like a nice setup....Good luck with your Cham, sounds like he is acclimating.

I was down there visiting last year when the iguanas were falling out of trees during that cold snap. I always wondered how the Wild Chams handled this recent drop in temp.

EEEEEEEEEEEEEWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!

When we lived in NC, they have the big red ones that can fly and like to hang out in trees and drop on your head. They would find ways into your home to get to a water source. It was sooooo Gross!!

shudder shudder.. I swear that those roaches have a homing beacon that automatically search for any human head for landing...

ARGHHHH!!!!

Just be careful on using those as feeders... I am not a big fan of carrying in invasive species into my home.
They are good at escaping and hiding as well.

I was getting some out today for someone who wanted to try them for beardies..and apparently one got sneaky and crawled up my shirt.. I didnt scream, but I did have to breath very very slowly so I didnt freak out and start flinging my clothes everywhere!!!

So its good for the vines to be ABOVE the plant? Im getting told mixed things..I told above and then Im being told they need to be in the plant so the cham can hide...Arg!
