Maybe a little bored--she's been bred eight days in a row. The male was not terribly interested today when I put her in his cage. I think she is just about to start turning The Color "No." Today her colors weren't the brightest I've seen them when I've introduced her to a male. Here's a few more pictures of Color "Yes" from the same female before another breeding. I just find the color range of the female quads to be really fascinating and beautiful. The last picture was during a breeding a week ago when she went form a normal bright green during most of the breeding to black and then back to bright jeweled green. It was an odd series of pictures. The male turns black when he breeds--that is as long as you don't look at him. I was trying to get a picture of him being black, but of course, as soon as I looked at him he greened up. When I came back a minute later, hoping he was black again, she was black. It went from black male breeding green female, to green male breeding black female.Wow! She has some pretty nice blues when saying yes.
After saying yes, is it me or is she looking just a little bit bored in the second pic?
When your male is "enticing" the female to breed does the brown turn a really nice chestnut, the blues get more intense especially on top of his head and over all just really nice bright contrasts? My male when breeding looks pretty much like the photo of your male in the last pic. I've never seen him turn black while breeding.
I do love the yes colors of your female!!
