The babies!

We have to young "baby" chameleons in the house, one is my husband and mine, the other is our 20 year old sons. We all work different schedules so we all help out. I have unknowingly started calling the chams the babies, because well they are the babies in the house lol. So after a phone call today I realized how weird it must sound asking if my son has misted the babies today and that I'm going to get bugs for them tonight. Just sayin it might sound a little odd. Lol

Those same people will think it is strange that you even care about a reptile.

Don't worry, here we all love our "babies".

In my household, we talk about the chams every day.
Heck, we even talk to them at times.
Strange? Who cares--we're happy keeping chameleons as pets.

Lol I talk to them every day lol. I have human kids, fur babies and scale babies lol.

I can't count the number of times that I've talked about having to get home because the crickets were shipped and I had to take care of them. Also, when I'm checking out of the grocery store with collard greens and the clerk asks how I prepare them and I tell them I don't eat that stuff but that I feed it to my dragons (I purposely don't say bearded dragons for the effect!). My friends and family understand and smile, and who really cares about anyone else?

I dont really care about what other people think when it comes to anything (Im one of those types lol) but I do think its funny what must be going through their heads lol. Then this conversation happens in the produce section of the store. I am on the phone with my son
Me- Hey did you feed the babies today?
Him- Yea I fed them
me-Did you mist them?
Him-yea
Me-Im at the store do we need any food for the bugs
Him- yea crickets
Me- I know we need crickets but do we need any food for THEM
Him- Yea crickets
Me-(now talking louder) I know we need more crickets BUT do we need any food for the crickets?
Him-Yea we need crickets
Me- (now talking even louder) I know we NEED crickets Im at the grocrey store do we need anything to feed the freaking crickets!!!!
I swear people must think I am little crazy lol if they only knew how crazy I actually am....
