Hi All im new here i have just become the proud owner of a female veiled, she is 5 months and seems to have settled in well. (had her 1 week) im a little conserned that im not keeping her temp high enough it is currently 78-80 during the day and about 85 in her basking area, with a drop of 10 at night the humidity is at 60% is this ok as i have looked and found so many sites with diffrent advise?
She is moving around ALOT (she walks more than i do!) she is eating well and seems to have mastered the art of drinking from the exo terra waterfall any advise welcome

Ditch the waterfall.
Bad for your chameleon as it harbors bacteria.
She should drink from a dripper or from mistings.
Is she in exo terra aquarium?
or is she in screen cage?

The temp is fine.

Also just to make sure, you dont have any substrate right? How about live plants vines and sticks. If you can get real plants, than that's what you should do. With a simple search of the boards you can find all you need to know on live plants for your enclosure. As stated before, lose the waterfall and buy a spray bottle, even better, a pesticide sprayer. Even better than that would be an electronic misting system. Post back with anymore questions, Im no pro, but you've come to the right place to find them.

Hi It's a Exo terra, i have been changing the water every day is that still not good?

Waterfall is not favorable in chameleon enclosure.
It's hard to keep it bacteria free even if you change the water everyday.
Be aware that glass keep hot air trapped inside on top of the poor air circulation.
If u use analog thermometer, often case, they do not measure temp accurately.
In this case, usually the temp inside aquarium is actually hotter than you think.

You need minimum of 2 sides of the cage made from screen. Or, you can provide adequate ventilation strips.
There are members here from UK who can elaborate more on how they keep the air circulation flow well in glass cage.

I always use aluminum screen cage on all my chams. But, I live in California, US. Our climate is different.

No, unfortunatley thats not good enough. Any fecal that falls in ther from the cham or crix, crix themselves will fall in. There is just no telling. Unless you can sit and watch the waterfall all day long and somehow ctach things before they fall in..... Well that probably still wont be good enough. Any large bodiesof water like that are bound to harbor unseen bacteria, so its better to be safe than sorry IMO. Besides chams drink from morninv dew, and rain on the leaves, youd probably get a much better, and quicker drinking response if you just spray the leaves. Let the water bead up on some leaves and your cham will be drinking in no time.

My cham is picky about where he want's to drink water. He hated everything being wet from mistings so I got a little dripper http://www.reptilesupply.com/product.php?products_id=521 and before I go to work in the morning I put new water in it and turn it on a very low rate drip. Once I get home I make it run, almost like a faucet on low and he just about runs to it and loves it! It's fun to watch him drink from his dripper hose.

Best thing I could of ever bought for him. :)
