Ok, so I've been in Korea for the past year and finally have some vacation time in August. I was think about doing my usually wing it solo backpacking trips through Tanzania. I imagine it may be a bit difficult but I'm up to the challenge. Especially, because I absolutely adore Mt. Meru's. Has anyone ever been, want to go, or have any advice for my endeavor? Please feel free to join me. This trip is mostly herping and a cultural experience. In addition, will a trip lasting 7 days cost a significant amount? 3,000 dollars is considered significant and I'm willing to slum it.

Take packs of standard ballpoint pens and pencils. You will be amazed at what you can barter for in the more rural areas or its just nice to give them away to the kids. Have fun, travel safe!
