Tank liners

I was wondering what people use for the bottom of their tanks to stop water from leaking out. My old tank had a plastic liner with it and I got a new one but there aren't liners with the same dimensions. I got a couple ideas I am thinking I doing but I am wondering what other people use/do.

I am getting my cage in the mail tomorrow and im pretty sure it has a mesh bottom as well. I am thinking about getting some kind of plastic flat surface that i can put underneath the cage, so that way the chameleon cant get to it or eat it, and that way it wouldn't absorb water. Also you can lift the cage up and wipe it clean for an easy clean up! Hope this helps. Ill let you know more tomorrow when i get it done!

I got my first mesh enclosure last week, the base is open, with a hard plastic insert. I looked everywhere for a plastic tray that would fit (23x23in, less than 12in deep) but came up empty. Then I saw carpet protector strips at Home Depot that are 27 inches wide, and you can have them cut to fit anything, so I got them to cut it to 27 inches, so it was square. It cost $1.98! It has tiny peg things all over to help it stand up on deep-pile carpet, but it means it holds really well to mesh. I need to make a hole in it for drainage, but I'm hoping it will do the trick nicely.

Hey,

I am constructing a brand new viv right now, and the bottom I am making that heavy duty screen for gardening (Sq. CM cubes) overlapping it 3 times to make the holes smaller
then underneath the whole rig is a bin I picked up from Walmart to catch the water from my dripper. SO the water falls, slips through layers of metal mesh, then into a convenient bin I empty every two days :)
