T5 bulbs

Howdy Jacob,

Thanks for posting before you bought the R-Zilla UVB light source . The verdict is still out on their re-formulation. We may have the results of laboratory testing in the next few months.

I hope this post link says it all:

Stay with the ZooMed Reptisun 5.0 linear tube. 18" is a common size to use, especially with young Panthers and Veileds.

Try www.lllreptile.com for that model. They usually have the tube for about $14. You an go with the ZooMed fixture or buy virtually any fixture that accepts an 18" fluorescent tube. Don't leave any plastic lens covering the tube if the fixture happens to come with one.

thanks, i have a 24" on my panther now, but i was looking at prices for my baby that i am getting this week, and their combos were cheap. I did some research before i committed, and decided that more money would hurt my wallet less than my babies eyes.

No scientific data to back this up, but when purchasing lights at local petstore the owner told me "the zilla is honestly a piece of crap bulb". However I use the fixture, works great!:)

right on, I appreciate it. I looked up a few posts on it, and it just didn't seem worth the savings to risk it. I am grateful for the help guys
