The cavitation bubbles formed by the mantis shrimp are also really cool. That research is out of that Patek lab. They have more videos on their site as well: http://www.bio.umass.edu/biology/pateklab/video Regarding the cavitation bubbles, if you look at the second video on their page, you can see that not only does the impact from the shrimp cause a force spike, but so too does the cavitation bubble.
