Im gonna start feeding spike every other day now that hes about 7 months. My schedule was calcium with d3 monday, wednesday, friday and herptivite saturday as told by flchams and screameleons in between days no dusting but gutloaded with collard greens which is high in calcium. What should i do now that im feeding every other day.

That's not how I raised my veileds. At 7 months I dusted with calcium without d3 at just about every feeding, calcium with d3 twice a month and the herptivite once a month. When they became adults about a year old the only thing I changed was the calcium without d3 to everyother feeding.

I only use rep-cal. I was told by flchams where i purchased him and by screameleons to dust with calcium with d3 every other day and herptivite once a week and the days in between no dusting. They are both very large and well known and they produce beautiful healthy chameleons so i figured it was alright to go by what they said.

RepCal is the brand I use, and I would not use that much D3 that often. D3 from supplements can build up in the system and cause organ/tissue damage.

I encourage you to read the info in these links, and then decide for yourself what best works for your situation:

If you check out the links I provided, one of them is a link to one of my blog entries in which I list what I do, and what factors to consider when determining what you should do :)

Thanks sandra very helpful. What do you think my supplement schedule should be
Using rep-cal calcium with d3 and herptivite i dont have regular calcium yet
Feeding crickets and superworms
Gutloading with collard greens sometimes also carrots
Uvb lighting repti-sun 5.0
Little to no natural sunlight
7 month old male veiled

You need to get the plain calcium right away because that's what you need the most.... a couple of times a week. D3 a couple of times a month and multi. vit. once a month. You might want to offer dubia, silkworms and hornworms ever now and then too.

Keep using the collards and other high calcium gutload veggies.
Pick up some plain phos free calcium soon soon as you can.
Use the plain calcium LIGHTLY on most crickets. Every other week, use your repCal with D3 LIGHTLY on a few crickets instead of the plain calcium. use a vitamin supplement once or twice a month as well.
Change your UVB bulb regularily.
Keep in mind that Vitamin A, Calcium and D3 all work together and need to be in balance.
And I very much agree with beeze that adding other feeders beyond crickets and superworms is a good idea. Silkworms are a really great feeder. butterworms are high in calcium. dubia and other roaches can be easily gutloaded.
