supplement -guaranteed analysis-

Hoj

Friendly Grasshopper
so i am trying to fiugure out afew things and am looking to get the analysis numbers on as many commonly used supplements i can.

so far i have

rep-cal calcium w/d3 pink label
rep-cal herptivite blue label
zoomed reptvite w/d3
exo-terra calcium w/d3
exo-terra multivite

so if anyone would like to post or pm the numbers on what they are using that would be great. i am mainly after the calcium min/max, d3 iu per lb/kg, and vit a/betta carotene per mg/lb . please be as accurate and specific as possible.

thanks

hoj

not exactly on topic but close. heres a little tid bit about min/max guarantee. they will literally use the boundaries. i recently had a few products tested and i am awaiting the results. i have had reptocal done and a land tort food and the analysis was within guarantee range. it was high on both sides of calcium/phos min/max but still within labeled guarantee. basically the 2/1 ratio is not precise.

i am not getting the supplements analyzed, just wanting the numbers for some reasearch if you were refering to me not ataraxia

Hey Hoj-

Don't know the nature of your research, but depending on what it is- seems like people forget to take into account the actual amount of the product delivered (for example, repcal does not stick as well to feeder insects as the zoomed product, so amount of d3 actually delivered per 10 crickets say, would be less than if the product stuck to the crickets equally well as the zoomed, for example.) The way to figure it out would be to dust a set weight of crickets with each product and compare the final weights.

ataraxia-

Could you please IM me with the results of the analysis or post them here on the forums? I'm curious about the results because I know in the past (15 years ago?) some analysis of products that I was aware of did not agree with the label. I no longer remember the details, except one brand that wasn't even close to what it said on the label.

exactrly flux that is the next part of my reasearch i just need a better scale to get good weights..

summoner: i own a shop here in indiana. every so often a rep from the state chemist will show up and go through inventory. basically product labels even for pets have to be monitored and state what it is intended for and properly label ingredients and amounts. im all for it! i can send in any product to be analyzed if it has not been done and if it has been done they have results.

i not only feed my own animals these products but also feed these products to animals that will go home to future owners. i want to be sure im feeding and recommending a good product.

flux: i sure can..give me a day or so to find them. any label that does not meet requirements gets pulled from shelves AND the company is notified to fix from the government. do you still see the products on the shelves you are saying? if so see if you can remember and let me know.
