After a few months of growing some worms and then separating them I have plenty of pupae, and now two beetles! Whee-hee! Found one last night, then a VERY fresh one earlier this afternoon.
First one:
Both of them:
Anyone know if there's a way to sex the beetles? I noticed these two seem quite a bit different and was just wondering if there was an actual reason for it.
These guys are awesome. Slow that roaches, doesn't feel like they're holding on with needles, and they (as well as the worms) seem to be intelligent for insects (I've spent more than a healthy amount of time just watching supers XD).
Some pupae, a very fresh one on the left and two on the right that will emerge in a few days.
I somehow busted this one open.
It survived the night, so I hope it will emerge still. It's done better than any mealworm pupae.
I'm so stupidly happy.
