Sunshine for Shylo

I have a 7 week male veiled cham who I have been putting out in the sun on in temps of 85-90 degrees, for 15-20 minutes 3x a week. I mist him and he turns a beautiful bright green. I am curious about the length of time baby's can be outside to bask? I live in VA.

THX all,

What you're doing is great.
He could probably be out a little longer ... it's going to depend on how much time you have to spend outside babysitting.
Make sure he doesn't get too hot.
Naturally babies that age would be staying low in the protection of grasses and low growing shrubs, etc. where the temps are a bit cooler and there is lots of protection.
The natural sun is an amazing thing for them, but the amount of time you are providing now is plenty.
Good luck with raising your youngster!

That is great! I was doing this with my Panther the first two weeks I had him. Now I cannot get him to climb on me, etc. He hisses. etc. and I do not want to stress him any more than he already is. He is really missing out on the "real" sun though.:(

Sorry to butt in...How long could my 8/9 month old veiled be out in the sun at around these temps? What if the temps are 5-10 degrees lower? Is that too cold?

Probably all day as long as he was safe in an enclosure and got several mistings throughout.
Make sure there is plenty of protection so that he can get in the shade if he wants to.
