Suitable climbing branches

Are dead (freshly cut) ficus branches suitable for chameleons to use as their main branches? Also how about Jasmine vines? Dead and dried out.

Is this a stupid question? Do I really have to buy the fake ones? I have live plants but need additional crawling room.

I use those fake vines you buy at the pet store and bamboo sticks I get in a bundle at walmart. I sand the bamboo with heavy grit sand papper so tney can get a good grip on them. Have even sandblasted a few. But yes you can use dead branches from outside or from other plants you use. I like the fake vines because you can shap them how you want and use stainless wire to attatch them to the screen.

Scout,

Ficus branches would be o.k. Remember to sterilize them first. I'm not sure about the jasmine vines. I hope someone can advise us on those, as I have jasmine all over my yard. Don't see it on the safe list, but......

I believe someone told me jasmine was safe to use, I could be mistaken. But I am using ficus now, I cut the leaves off and dried for about 2-3 days. After a hot water rinse.
