Substrate for pygmy habitat?

I have a pygmy and a juvenile veiled. I recently learned that it is best not to have substrate for the chameleons as they can ingest the substrate while feeding on crickets..that paper towels are sufficient. Is that the same for pygmys or would they need the substrate to be more at home on the jungle floor? Thanks...........

Pygmies are commonly kept with substrate; I keep mine on coconut bark ("EcoEarth" and "Bed-A-Beast" are two brands); if you have a multiple pygmies, the females will want the substrate to dig in for egg-laying, though I suppose it would be possible to provide them with a laying bin like we do for the larger chams.

starting a habitate for pigmy chameleon, plant tips anyone?

I do not currently own any chameleons but i am planning to set up an enclosure for two pigmy chameleons, my plan is to put live plants and need some suggestions on the types and what to avaid?
