Since a coup that happened in 2009 Madagascar has been in a state of politic turmoil. This happening at a time when many wildlife conservations were beginning to consider Madagascar was going to become a wildlife conservation success story. A new election is going to happen this year and both the exiled president and current president have stated they are not going to run in the new election. The could be a fresh start for Madagascar and the end to four years of political turmoil and with new leadership and god speed to continue conserving Madagascar's forests. Here's an article.

I hope democracy returns and the people can see that it is in their long term economic interests to preserve their most precious resource, the unique forrests and wildlife that generations will pay to travel and see.
