Sooooo excited!!!

I just had to share! This morning I had Zippy out for weighing (he now weighs 17.4g) and while he was sat on my hand I thought I would offer him a waxworm. To my surprise and joy he actually took it from my other hand! I am soooo happy! This is a huge breakthrough for me as Carpets are so shy and all my previous attempts at hand feeding have been met by a violent colour change (as per my avatar pic, lol) and negative vibes! I've had him 4 months and have only seen him shoot food twice - the day I brought him home and this morning!

The striking colour change from happy (green) to angry (black and white with yellow bits) is what I find most fascinating with him! That and his tiny size! He is 7.5m now and still only weighs 17.4g. He is tiny, yet already sexually mature as he produces tiny sperm deposits most days when he poops! He goes from plain light green to this in a couple of seconds when he's angry!

Reminds me of my Nosy Be, Smidget.
He did eat a worm from my hand, once! hasnt done it since!!

He is a mean 'killer cham' !!

I have let him out 3 times to free range and he hisses and bites each time when I have to put him back home!!

I hope your little carpet warms up to you, just maybe takes some extra time with some chams.

Congrats - that's awesome that Zippy handfed that worm for you! I know that you've been a bit bummed at him being shy, so this was definitely some great news today!

Well, I had him out again today and offered him another worm and he took it again! Its great to finally be getting somewhere with him! I've had him 4 months now and was beinning to think that he would never take food from me. He still won't hand feed in his cage though, so that is the next step for us!
