Some questions/concerns about my Veiled

Okay so first off I haven't had my Veiled very long (a few weeks or so) and as of two days ago I noticed that he is keeping one eye closed fairly often. He doesn't always keep it closed, but enough that I noticed and it has made me concerned. He also hisses at night, and doesn't have much of an appetite. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance!

you mean hisses at night when he is sleeping? I have never heard of that. If he is making noises while he sleeps and has lost his appetite. He could have a respiratory infection. That is just a possibility. Could you describe more what is going on with the noise you are hearing.

Yes only when he sleeps or he's upset, and not all the time. He does it randomly and sometimes doesn't for days at a time. I would say he's only done that 2 or 3 times since I've had him. That's what I was thinking and hoping it wasn't. The noises he makes at night sound just like the noises he makes when he's upset. He'll open his mouth and hiss and then won't make a sound again. I'm also worried that he won't open one eye. What do you think that could be? Thanks for your help!

Okay, so I took this a few minutes ago. The first one is showing the eye he's been keeping shut. He opens it fairly often, but keeps it closed long enough for me to be worried. The second picture is showing that same eye but closed, and the third picture is showing the size difference between his eyes. The pictures aren't that great, but hopefully they'll help. Also that last picture makes it look a little worse than it is in person.

Maybe he's dreaming when he makes the noises in his sleep. Mine will change colors in his sleep, I can tell when it's a good dream or a bad one..the different eye size and him closing it is over my head. I'm sure one of the senior members can tell you more info on that. But nonetheless I'd still make a vet appointment, just to have him checked over good. Good luck tho and welcome to the forum!!
