Some breeding questions

Hello all, I'm planning on Breeding panthers in about a year so I am doing my research and I have some questions.

1. I understand females can have eggs without mateing. I am assuming that
when a female is gravid it is too late to mate with a male. How long should
I wait after she lay her infertile eggs before I let her mate?

2. Can I use the yoke of the infertile eggs to make cricket food? Suppose to
be good protien, right?

3. How long after the eggs hatch should I start feeding them?

Thanks in advance

1 - you wait until the female is receptive again, at least.
2 - you could, but then you are feeding the crickets to the chameleons so that may not be a pleasant-feeling circle of life.
3 - I offer food to babies from the start. Often they dont actually eat until a day or three later (but a few will eat within a few hours of hatching, so you never know)

hey im actually planning on breeding soon to. So i guess my questions could contribute also.

1. How much harder is it exactally to breed panthers over veileds?
2. What is a good temperature is good for incubating panther eggs?
3. How old should i wait for my Male to be before i mate him with a female?

1 - no signficiant difference. They breed quite readily if the female is receptive and other conditions appropriate.
2 - room temp, but You may want to look up diapause.
3 - I like both male and female to be at least a year old, of a good size and weight, and of course healthy.

You might both find the information linked to from this blog entry useful:

I also am getting into breeding and have 1 question that kind of sounds retarded but i need an answer lol.

How can you tell if your female is receptive? My female is nearly all pink but shows a little of black in her barring, is this female close to receptive?
