so i just ordered my solortech 6.1 and cant wait... im pretty excited and knowbody else i know would really understand so i am posting about it lol.
i ordered from site sponsor "light your reptiles" and hope it makes it way up here as quic as it can.
I just got mine last week
so I understand!!! FYI I found out my new MVB I have had on my Tort for the past month is putting out 2....that's right 2. All my chams were ok in the 19-24 range

Aren't they supposed to be better than traditional limear uvb?

I don't know if "better" but they are suppose to produce much higher levels of UVB than a liner bulb. I know I just proved to myself the worth of owning a meter! You never know when or if you will get a DUD of a bulb....and if you do you might seriously compromise the health of your reptile over the 6-8 mo that you are giving them NO UVB before you change out the bulb.
I don't think it's as big of a deal when you live somewhere like AZ or CA and get your chams/reptiles outside often year around, but in many parts of the country it could be VERY bad!!

All my chams were ok in the 19-24 range
Not very good really......
Ask Anne. My readings were in the mid 30's and now thier in the mid 60's She just told me a reputable breeder doesnt go under 60

Ahh now i MUST replace the screen in the top to my viv! Luckily I only have to turn 4 knobs and its off.
OHHH and Anne, you never re-answered my question about losing uvb through solacryl after losing it the first time..

The reason they use the solacryl is because it lets all the uv thru, hence the tanning. So if there is any loss, it is minimal.
For some reason this looks really short compared to the one I posted last nite. Im going to go back and look at our conversation.
