So Cold at NIGHT!

My house is basically a Giant Freezer this time of the year. I started putting a blanket over the cage at night to help.(although I dont know if it makes much a difference) Well my thermometer reads around 60 at night but when I wake up at 7am its like 51.2 should I start using a heat source at night? If so any recommendations? I don't want light to disturb him at night, any advice would help greatly

You could get a ceramic heat emitter - they put out heat but not light, so it would be safe to use at night. I don't know what wattage you would need, however, but maybe 100w would raise it up to about 65-70ish, which would be comfortable for him.

They can handle down to around 50 (an adult, anyway) but a good drop is beneficial so I usually let it hover in the 60s if it's a youngish chameleon (but I'm in Florida, so it doesn't get too much colder more than just a few days a year!) As long as they can warm up during the morning they tolerate cooler nights.
