smelly melleri?!?

yet another question.. so my newest melleri, Plinko came to me in a very smelly reptarium. or so i thought it was the reptarium..I instantly chucked it in the garbage as the odiferous offender. anyway now it seems that its Plinko that smells BAD!! is it possible that Plinko absorbed some stink from an unclean former cage and if so will it go away with his next shed? has anyone else ever noticed an odd smell when dealing with an adult mellers? maybe a male marking territory? any ideas?

They have a gland in either corner of their mouth that is usually full of a waxy yellow substance this time of year. Especially if your Melleri is full grown. That stuff stinks.

Also, Meller's have some of the worst breath of any chameleon. I've been told they carry a lot of bacteria in their mouth.

Other than that, and the fact that their poo can smell like horse manure, I don't know of any scent they exude that we would notice.

It may be the mouth odors, or something clinging to its skin. Have you showered your cham?

yes, Plinko receives long mist sessions that I would think knock any residual smell off. I will check its breath... WOW! cricket shaped mint anyone?
