Small crickets

I've just started to give my cham (about 2-3 months old) small crickets instead of house flies. Since he's only able too eat the small ones and they tend to grow pretty fast, I need to buy new ones maybe 2 times a week.

Do you got any good tip or that's just the way it is?
I've tried to free range the crickets, but it dosen't work out that good. Can I use a "cricket cup" even when he's this small? Don't want him too hurt his tongue if he would hit the edge when he draws it back.
Cheers :D

I'm afraid really there's no way to stop growth :/ If you're afraid of escaping crickets (I don't free range crickets because of this), you can hand-cup feed. That's what I do with my veiled, they don't climb or jump. Have you ever tried baby roaches or silkworms?

Okay, mainly cause it's alot of money too spend every week. Guess I just have to deal with it untill he's bigger :) No, I havent tried to feed with any of that. What would you recommend that I get? I rly like too free range it, I just feel that theirs better things to feed him with than those flies :)
When you hand cup feed, you just put them in a small cup and hold it infront of your cham? :)

I just found out about "Exo Terra "canned" insects", have any of you tried those? Will chams even eat them?

I have a feeding station i have been working on, little hard to explain. But i'll make a video and link you tomorrow.

They generally don't eat dried food & I don't think there's much nutritional value in it.

I had a similar problem, the locusts kept out-growing my cham so I had to keep buying new boxes, & now I find that he's eats loads of mediums & the large locusts are too big for him- so I still have buy loads of boxes!

I guess it's something that will probably become cheaper when he's 7 months old- their appetites taper off & u can reduce feeding to every other day.

Yeh I know, that's why found it strange when they even recommended it for chameleons :S

Ye I guess thats just something you have too do when their small :)

Why don't you try buying Pinheads online, then if you only get a number of them by the time you get through with them they won't be to big for the chameleon to eat, just my thought

Yes, that's how I cup feed. I will still recommend baby dubias and small supers. Dubias usually will not move all that much, so if you put them on a leaf or something they are likely to stay, unless they fall and are most likely to hide. Superworms can cling to branches fairly well.
