My female Veiled Chameleon that we just got from the Reptile store came home not wanting toto eat and has this weird skin tag looking cocoon like thing on her, we think it might be parasites, we're taking her to the VET ASAP and we want to have an idea of what it is so we can aid the vet in helping her.

Chameleon Info:
- Chamilla is a female Veiled Chameleon, who is 3 weeks old. we've had her for 4 days and we have taken her out for about 30 minutes a day. she's not eating. we leave a few crickets in the morning and at night, we water her with an automatic sprayer and by hand with a light spray bottle and dechlorinized water . She wasn't drinking or eating and we had to aid her in drinking by spurting small amounts of water from the spray bottle and letting her lick it. her color has stayed light green since we got her and she's definitely gotten really skinny and weja. she hasn't been tested for parasites and she shares an enclosure with her brother, Ezio another veiled chameleon which came from the same batch of eggs. Ezio is really healthy and eats. Chamilla has not been eating and clings to the cage, she also closes her eyes, is very sluggish and one day when trying to tame her we saw a black little bump that looked like it was inserted into her lower abdomen followed by a larger bump underneath.
Cage Info:
- Describe your cage
Wire cage 19 inches high, 16 inches wide. there is a 75 watt heat lamp and a 5.0 UVB . the lamps cycle is 12 hours on and 12 hours off. The highest and normal temperature is between 70-80 and lowest is 70. humidity levels are often 40-60. there are no live plants, there is real mulch, and real wooden decorations. The cage is located in the rooms corner and offset to a couch and far ceiling fan. The cage is about 2 feet from the floor. We live in south florida.

Current Problem -
Chamilla won't eat and won't drink often, she is scared and moves away from her food and away everyone. She is sluggish and pretty slow and she sleeps and has her eyes closed most of the time. she has 2 notable black scab looking things on her and it looks like it's inserted into her body with a bigger lump under it

I don't know what she has but she and her brother would both do better in separate cages. She will have less stress and a better chance of survival and if she is contagious her brother will have less chance of becoming infected. In general chameleons are very territorial and being around others is stressful.

As soon as possible get rid of the bark in the bottom of the cage. Chams can accidentally eat it while hunting bugs and it can cause an impaction.
I hope the vet can help her.

Can't tell what that is from the pic. Possibilities include a scab, a chunk of old stained skin that didn't shed, a clump of substrate stuck on her, even a fungal or viral infection. There's a chance that it is sign of an ectoparasite (something attached to the skin), but not that likely in a commercially produced veiled. Either way, she's obviously in trouble so the vet visit is key.
