Sleeping during the day?

Hi all, i have just picked up my first chameleon, a little veiled. He/she has been in the enclosure for just over an hour and i've already seen it drink :D. The problem is, it seems to be trying to go to sleep

Is this normal for a cham in a new enclosure? Also seems a bit dark in colour, i think.

Any suggestions?

being a new cham its likely stressed and exhausted, so for the time being, i wouldnt consider daytime sleeping an absolute instant panic issue.
however, that being said, any healthy cham, should normally be awake and alert most of the time during daylight hrs. a 10 min nap while basking in the radiant heat of the uva is one thing, but any extended or frequent sleeping during the day should be viewed as a metabolic red flag. would probably be a good idea to fill out the help form in its entirety repost in the health clinic, to get you off to a better start.
in the meantime, i would take it slow with handling and feeding and concentrate on getting its setup as close to the way as it should be, so you dont have to stress it out all over again as soon as it gets acclimated. jmo

anytime you ask for help the form should come with it. not always just copied and pasted as I did. New info. since this was just done I did cop and paste. We like all the info on the same page so not bouncing back an forth:)

History - None really, bought from pet store.

Cage Info:

Cage Type - 16x16x30 Reptibreeze
Lighting - Reptisun 5.0 UVB, 40 watt incandescent house bulb ( basking )
Temperature - Roughly 63 at floor, 67 mid cage, 70 ish top, 79- 81 basking. Temps seem very drastic for such a short space?
Humidity - Between 40-50% ( seems hard to get any further ). Using misting bottle. Measured using analog hydrometer( i know i know )
Plants - One fair size ficus benjamina, fake vines etc..
Placement - In bedroom, no fans, no air vents. In corner of room so no high traffic. Top of cage is about 4ft from floor.
Location - Sussex, UK. (South coast)

Current Problem - Well since this is the first day, i'm probably worried about nothing. He/she is, or coming to the end of shedding. Showing fairly dark colours. Dark green, faint dark spots covering body( like a cheetah ).
Constantly has left eye closed most of the time. Wasn't sure if this is due to shedding

Will post pics soon.

Will bare this in mind for future reference thanks. I'm really stressed at the moment because i can't figure out what's wrong with the little guy :(
