sleep times

Hey all. When do your chams start looking for their sleeping spots? My old male & my female start looking for their sleeping spot about 45 minutes before lights out but my 1yr old male has been going to his sleeping spot an hr & a half before lights out. Right before the last misting. My 3 chams get identical care. Heres the basic lowdown of my husbandry...

2x2x4 reptibreeze enclosure
reptisun 5.0 linear tube
60 watt clear glass incadescent housebulb
12 hr cycle
basking temps range from 84 to 90 throughout the course of the day, 74 ambient, 69-70 at night.
digital temp gun & thermomiter used to gauge temps.
humidity sit at around 50 but jumps to 90 during misting, then gradually falls. digital gauge as well.
my mist king goes off 5 times a day 6, minutes each session. Dripper runs all day.
3 to 5 large crix a day as the stape gutloaded with collard greens, sweet potato, carrot, strawberries & apple. im using repashy insect gutload for my dry portion.
suppliment with repcal cacium, no d3, 5 times a week & reptivite with d3 twice a month.
also feed supers, hornworms, silks & butters as treats.
foliage consists of one large benjamina ficus, 1 pothos. many different levels of vines running throughout.
top of the cage is about 7 feet from the ground. located in my livingroom, very low traffic. lowest traffic in my house.
the problem is that an hour & a half before lights out seems a bit early to be looking for a spot to put on the pjs. no sleep during the day. he curls up early but is still very awake & aware of everything. again, this care is identical to my other 2 chams with the exception of a slightly smaller cage & feeders & lower temps tfor my female. no similar problems with the other two. anybody have similar experience? any advice, help, reassurance would be greatly appreciated. thanks,

justin

hi there,

Mine usually start to move into their sleeping spot about an hour before lights out. Lately though, My ambilobe has been waiting until lights out then just sleeping wherever he fancies, i guess hes comfortable in his home!

What time at night do the lights go out? If it's late and they can see outside mine will be ready for bed when she see it getting dark outside even if her lights are still on.

its acually early but they wake up early. my cycle is 6:30 to 6:30. i cant totally avoid natural light unless i put them in the basement & its too drafty. i cover the cages with a sheet at lights out. theyre all out cold within minutes. in the morning theyre all awake 15 minutes before lights on but dont move outta their spots till about 7. they all share that same pattern. its just this one guy who seeks the shade an hour & a half early. I ve given him some exposure to unfiltered sunlight within the last 2 weeks. im not sure if he was ever in the sun before that. im wondering if its a d3 or uvb thing...

mine does that sometimes too. But he will not go to sleep. My lights go out at 6:30 as well and sometimes around 5 or 5:30 he is settling in and curling up his tail. Last night he was still wandering around when the light went off! I wouldn't worry about it! We think and worry too much sometimes! We over analyze and drive ourselves nuts!!! Maybe they like a change once in awhile like we do!
