Sleep schedule

I currently own a veiled chameleon and I have her lamp running for 12 hours during the day, the only problem is I get up at 5 am would it be okay for her to only get 10 hours of sleep? I know she sleeps when I turn off her lamp even if I have my TV on at night.

Easiest thing to do, is to get a timer. They're super easy to use and cheap. One less thing to worry about. There are analog and digital timers for around $5.

Oops, sorry, I misunderstood your question. I'd just change the 12 hour "on" cycle to start at 5am, because turning the lights on might wake her, especially if that's your daily routine.

My panther's cage sometimes gets a little light at night from the hallway when we go up and down the stairs at night and it doesn't wake him. We don't turn on the lights that are nearest his cage, or flood the whole room with light at night, though.

You're very welcome. :) My guys get up at 4am, that way when I have to go to work early, they're up and I can feed them.
