Sleep Patterns?

Mr duke likes to fall asleep when I take him out at night/evening time, but during the day he walks all over the place and does his thing. but it is rare to see him sleeping in the cage. I didn't know if that was because of the infrared bulb or what. and i have seen that a large group of other cham owners said theirs hissed at them when they tried to take theirs out of the cage? but he has never hissed at us or shown any aggression.. we take him out atleast twice a day everyday.

well, we live in ohio.
and right now it is kinda cold. we have his infrared light on and the temp in his cage is around 87 degrees.
if we left it off it would get down in the sixties or lower.

Pull the infrared further back from the cage and let the temp dip into the mid 60s. Any lower and you're right, the cham does better when it's not frozen.

will do!

i love him :)

any ideas about why he's so friendly?!
do you think he will get aggressive later on? :(

we thought he may have tail rot, but i've been putting neosporin on his tail and it's totally healing!! :) YAY.

The night time temp's do have to drop at night 60's are ok lower than that is to cold. A ceramic bulb is a beter form of heat at night.
You said it is rare to see him sleeping? what do you mean exactly, you dont even see him sleep after lights are out? He should never be sleeping during the day.
Be very carefull with handling the large majority of chams cant handle it and get very stressed. It can be hard to tell if they are stressed.
A very small percent it seems stay friendly maybe you got one :)

nahh he doesn't sleep during the day.

but every evening or night we get him out,
as soon as he's on my hand, he crawls up to my shoulder or close, and he closes his wee little eyes and sleeps :) SO CUTE.

its normal... just because some people have chams that aren't as personable doesnt mean they are all mean. I know a bunch of people on here have veileds like yours and love to be out.

you just got a nice one :)

Lucky you, you got a friendly one, hope it stays that way for ya. Mine has no intention of letting me hold him. That's ok though, I like his bad attitude.:D

yayyy :)

yess he's pretty friendly. i mean, sometimes he will shy away when we go to grab him up, but thats understandable. we're huge to him i'm sure ha.

but yeh he's NEVER hissed or anything like that ever.

i wouldn't have even known they did that if it weren't for all the people taking about it hahha.

you don;t think he will change once he hits little lizard puberty do you?

or is he past that?

how old does he look?
