silk worm VS silk moth

is the moth just as good for the chams as the worms? I have a bunch of silk worms that I think are ready to make cocoons - they are big ,and kinda shiny - but they have looked like that for a while now- they are still eating, so does that mean they are not ready? but I am going to have alot of moths - are these also good feeders ?
thanks

The chams really do like the moths, as for their nutrient content, not nearly as good as the worm. But still they provide some variety and excitement for the crew.

thanks :) I dont know why my worms are not going " moth" lol- they just act confused ? they go to the rolls, but then just sit on them - how do you know they are ready ? I read the blog many times :D - I may just have to read it to THEM - :p

Just like horn worms you will see the vein on their back start to pulse. They will cocoon when ready. They will also empty their gut so you will see a puddle below them haha.

EWWWWWWWWWWWW OMG - and I thought they were cute UNTIL NOW
well, you know I am going to have to turn on the light to go look now :p

they are in a big bin, LOTS of them - I have pulled some, but sounds like I need to seperate more - they are like a big clump - the more I cleaned them, the more they died - so I just started to throw the branches on them, and left the old stuff, and they started to live - but I think some are ready  lol
