silk worm chow..

I just got in 2 lbs of pre made silkworm chow and I have no worms left. I lost over half of them in the few days I was out of chow and fed them greens and carrots. I only used a couple of table spoons of the chow. My question is, can I store the pre made chow in the freezer until I am able to order and hatch more eggs? If it can be stored in the freezer how long will it be ok left in the freezer? If I can not store it can it be used as part of my gutload for crickets and dubia's?

Thanks,
Virginia

I know the dry mix is ok in the freezer for something like 6 months. You could contact the vendor from whom you purchased it and ask their opinion, but I think it would be ok in the freezer. As for feeding to other insects I think that would be fine, they would probably think they were in bug heaven!

I ran out of chow and fed mine mulberry leaves. It wiped out about 150 worms! I know the leaves were not sprayed with pesticides and I washed them well so I don't understand why they all died. I am so p.o'd! I do not know about freezing the chow but I keep it in the fridge way past a month and it is still good and the worms do not die when they eat it.
