And this is not recommended... And the fact that your Vet would do that means they actually do not know about chameleons. I would suggest you get a new vet and stop trimming his nails. He is not a puppy. The reptile vet that I brought my guy to had no problem trimming his nails. About once every 4 months I'll trim his nails with a filer but still leave a point so he could climb
You don´t do that. They need their nails. The reptile vet that I brought my guy to had no problem trimming his nails. About once every 4 months I'll trim his nails with a filer but still leave a point so he could climb
They should not be climbing people at all. They should be in their cages climbing their plants. Chameleons are not mammals to pick up and go for walks with. What would even be the purpose of trimming their nails? They shouldn't be climbing all over you 24/7, they're not cats lol.

agree. Put on long arm hoodie or somethingAgreed other than the occasions when they come out of the cage for whatever reason(outside, cleaning, weighing, etc...). Even then, the nails don't hurt that bad. People need to suck it up and deal with discomfort once in a while.
