Wow..i had no idea how quick chameleons can shed... my juvenile n hour ago noticed his face n tail were shedding. Then when i come back in he basically shedded his whole body.

I see him rubbing on things to get it off. But should i mist him directly while he doing this or keep it dry for a bit longer see how he does on his own... now i notice its mostly just his face an legs

Exactly :).

I love shed time. It's cool to see them shed and in a way, to see how your husbandry is.

So question -- Angus shed yesterday for first time. The only signs left I saw last night were around one of his eyes and a little stuck on end of his feet. I could not believe the shed scales when I got home from work. No warning at all that was going to happen. So by end of today if there are any scales around his eyes, what would that mean? and what do I do about it? turn on the mist system on him???

Beman's toe shed is always the last to come off. I just up his misting so that he has the additional humidity. I have never sprayed him directly because I read that this is a last resort.

Yeah, I will never want to spray Angus directly. When I noticed that he had shed and still was not done. I manually turned the mistking on ran it for a few minutes right before I knew it was going to come on again and run again for another couple of minutes to help. I may should have ran it this morning a little more, so I hope when I get home that I see that it is off around that eye. His body looked great and WOW, spent alot of time scooping all the flakes of skin and getting them out of the habitat last night. HAD NO IDEA !!!! But he seemed a little stressed from it so I did not handle him. I did just give him his normal treat and left him alone. Is that normal? He had not hesitation at all getting his worms. So he seems to be eating fine. He was very active last night though. For a minute, I thought he was just showing off his mad skills at climbing as he started going all the way down toward the bottom and then stopped and turned around and went back up . He LOVES LOVES LOVES his scheffelera plants and the other plants and just climbs off into the middle of it . It was entertaining to see him maneuver around last night. My husband and I just both watched him in awe! He is sooo coool. I didn't see any new color on him but just noticed that his bars were really dark and rich in color but he usually looks like that when he is basking and chilling and that seemed to be the colors.

Yeah that is normal. Beman gets more stand off ish when he sheds although not grumpy. He still will come out and eat and be his normal self with me. But when he is done shedding he gets really active. Sounds like he is doing wonderfully! Little Angus man is growing :)

They kind of look refreshed when they shed. Theyre more vibrant in coloration. I always enjoy watching it. And it happens so quickly. Youll sometimes see a bit of white starting ..well on mine ... on its spine and move its way down from there

Yes, he looked white in certain places before he started the day before. He must be refreshed. I am watching him on my "cam Cham" (get it) at work so that I can see him and boy he is active today but noticing he keeps going back over by his feeder cup like it is magically going to reappear feeders. I think he would eat 50 if I put them in there. He definitely has a healty appetite. I gave him 6 roaches, 6 crickets this morning and sometimes it is a little more if the crickets are too small. He will get his superworms when I get home, that is his treat so he is associating coming out with food. Yesterday he wanted nothing to do with coming out, but today he I am going to work on him. I am anxious to get him out and see his colorations as I really didn't get a good look at him last evening before he went to bed.
