Sputnik shed for the first time in my care this morning. I've had him for a week, he is a month old. And WOW, they shed no warning! He woke up, went to his basking spot and bam, his skin was lose. He looks so pretty now that he shed! I must be doing something right ;)

Haha! True they always look so uncomfortable and grouchy Lol!
But so pretty when it's all over and their skin is shiny and new :)

Sputnik is all over the cage now that he shed. I'm curious as to why? Is he hungry and hunting? Is he feeling better because he is less constricted? I know it's probably a silly question but I'm curious.

I honestly think it's all of the above. My chams tend not to eat as much before they shed. I really don't know why? If it's because they need to shrink a bit so their shed can expand? Whatever reason I think the whole process must be really stressful because their body is going through changes in order to grow..
But after its all over my chams a ravenous and moving around a lot like yours. It must feel good to be all fresh and new like having a new dress or suit.. Lol!
