Sexual Maturity in male veiled

Hi All,

at what age should I expect my cham Hugo (currently 37 weeks/8.5 months old) to start getting sexually mature? I have no intention of breeding him, but reading all the stuff you can on here I was led to believe I should start finding sperm plugs as he becomes sexually mature, and we haven't seen any. Could he just be a late developer.

He is sexually mature at 8.5 months, but I do not find sperm plugs and the like with my male Veileds like I do the Panthers.

Ok, so I shouldn't worry that I can't find them. That's good! He does have days where he is more aggressive, but I have noticed that this has reduced when I increased his basking temp. You know what it's like when you are first starting out - you worry about everything!

I would say I am far from an expert. I still lean heavily on the advice of the long-term keepers. I do not see the worrying ever stopping!

I don't think the worry will stop as we are all still mothers, it is just that our children may be a Little different from the ones who go to school. lol
