Sexing babies (quads)

Is it possible to sex baby quads the same way the panther people do using the tail? I have one little quad two breeders think could possibly be a male (because of the scalloping on the tail) but Ponders, Quad Queen Extraordinaire, says female. The last two pictures are for reference--everyone agrees that baby is male.

It's been a while since I have been here, but there weren't too many people on here that bred Quads. Ponder, Pamnsam94 and Laurie are few that would be able to help.

I've had babies that I thought were males that turned out female and also the other way around. But I was judging by the nubs and not the base of the tail. The scalloping on the tail is slight and IMO not guaranteed to determine male. The only way to be 100% sure is to wait a little while longer.

How old is your baby quad and how old was the (male) Quad referenced in the pictures?

They are clutch mates, about 2.5 months old when the pictures were taken.
