Screening For Cricket Bin

Ok.. so I know Aluminum can be used in a cricket bin. I'm wondering if there's anything else easier to work with that they can't chew through. At my local Lowes I've seen aluminum, fiber, and some other kinds of screens. I don't quite remember what the others were. Any suggestions?

I personally use aluminum screens for my feeder bins and hot glue them. It's not bad at all...what seems to be the issue you're having with them? I recommend getting a nice hot glue gun too. It's paid for itself tenfold. :):):)

My friend helped me with my last bin and the aluminum was sharp as crap, the one of the screens just would not stick with the hot glue. I have a soldering iron and I'm planning on making tons of holes and cut two big boxes (at least at the top) and put screen on them. Id like to even do screen on the sides but I don't know if I can do it right now. Honestly I'd like to get it all done now, but I'm broke after buying everything I needed. So I might just cut the holes and boxes at the top. Leave it for a while and then hot glue the screen later.

What I do for my feeder bins is to cut large holes with a box cutter then I take the piece that I cut out and lay it on the aluminum screen then I cut the screen around the cut out piece but I cut it about 1/2 inch bigger on all the sides. Then I hot glue the screen to the bins and place clear packing tape over the edges of the aluminum screen so that I don't get scratched from them. If your having problems with the screen sticking its probably the glue your using. The one I got will stick any two pieces together.

If you're going to burn holes, make sure the holes aren't too big. If for the feeders to get out!!! ;););)

Over the years I have tried all kinds of screen and stuff. The very best I found was nothing! I got a tall bin and it seems the cricket aren't interested in jumping but are more interested in eating and drinking. If the bin is too small and the crickets can make it up to the screen, they will all hang out on the screen and find a way out regardless of the kind of screening you use. You could also use a kitchen garbage can.
