I have an idea of stacking my new cage together with my old one. I have a 24x48 and a 16x20. My plan is to rest the edges of the smaller cage on the ledges of the bigger cage. That would ensure that the weight of the smaller cage wont be on the screen but on the bars of the bigger cage. Then secure it with JB weld epoxy then for more support I would attached wires that hooks the bottom part of the cage to the corner of the bigger cage so that the weight would be distributed towards beams.
This would mean that I would cut the top portion of my new repti breeze cage and attach it to the top cage. I plan on rolling the cage wire and stitching it to the small cage with some fishing line. I plant on using stick glue on the sharp edges to ensure no injuries.
My plan is to put my big pothos plant on the top portion. Its a big plant with vines as long as 7 feet. That would dangle down the whole enclosure giving climbing space etc. Also the top cage would have the front gate open and a couple vines sticking out that leads to a couple pothos plants hanging from my ceiling. That will provide a free range area for my cham.
His lighting would be hanged from the walland would dangle down so he wont be able to reach them and prevent burn injuries. Also I plan on surrounding the enclosure with some stiff plastic about a foot high. To prevent escapes incase he wants to climb down from the opening.
What do you guys think? Is this a possible idea. The main thing I'm worried that the top cage might not hold and fall on my cham. Im sure it wont but before slicing open my new big cage and endangering my cham Diego thought I just ask you guys first.
THANK YOU!
p.s. there are pics attached.
