Sage started digging...

So I walked out to feed her today, and found a hole. She was deep down in it and I could hear her digging.

It has only been 19 days since the day she was bred. Anyone else had a panther lay in that short of a time period? She ate like a pig as right up until the deed also.

Anyway, I am excited to see the outcome!

You know how we girls are, you always have to "get ready" for any big event. Be calm, it will happen when it happens. This is from a person who can NOT stand to wait.

mine just laid after only 20 days.

Wow! That just seems so short, but it looks like mine won't be far behind. She dug to china and back today, and she looks no worse for the wear. Eating and drinking great as usual! I think she is gonna make some pretty babies!

They can lay sooner than 30 days after the mating depending on where they are in their cycle when they mated IMHO. Don't be surprised if the clutch has some infertile eggs in it if/when they do lay sooner.

Maybe she layed the eggs.

Nah, she came up very plump and you can see the eggs on her belly, however I dug up the area just to be safe. :)

She is pacing around today near the bottom of the cage today. I added a small Hibiscus to her laying bin to see if it makes it a little more enticing. I really don't want her digging in the main plant pot, it was such a pain to get the eggs out of there from the other female when she used it, but they def seem to favor digging near a potted plant.

Camille would never use a regular laying bin. First time she laid in a big plant. It just about did her in digging through all the roots but once she got started I was scared to move her. This last time she refused again so my husband fixed her up in a BIG trash can. The kind with wheels like you put on the side of the road for the trash man. She liked it! Not sure if you saw my thread but here it is with pics. https://www.chameleonforums.com/camilles-eggs-43-them-28568/

Here is a pic I just snagged of her digging. Sure does look exhausting doesn't it?

You need to leave her alone as much as possible until she lays the eggs. Feed her and water her only when she is up in the branches...and make sure you don't leave any uneaten insects in the cage. If she sees you while she's digging she may abandon the hole. If it happens often enough, it can lead to eggbinding.

That photo was taken from inside my house with a telephoto lense. She is outside on the back porch.

She finished up a couple hours ago. I uncovered 28 little beauties. 2 of them were pretty small, but the other 26 looked perfect. All 28 were a nice bright white.

She is doing great, drinking and eating already!

Congratulations! Good sized clutch!

Thank you. She is eating well and drinking, seems no worse for the wear. She is still very plump and showing gravid colors though  ! Also the two small eggs were about half the size of the others. Guessing they are infertile, but time will tell.
