My female dropped 15 today with NO casualties:D
I would post some pics but I have no camera:( sorry folks, but three cheers to my first successful clutch!

Congrats!!

Now for the hard part;) I didnt have any success with my first group of live bearers:eek: Hopefully I get another chance in a few more months. Keep them cool and well hydrated with plenty of fruit flys to eat. I would try and get them on crix as soon as possible because you can gutload them easier than FFs. I am going to try using bottled water from the start if there is a next time. I think the minerals in my well water had something to do with being unsuccessful.

GOOD LUCK!!!!:)

Okay. how long will it be before they start eating? I tossed a pin head in there and no responses really lol. I heard you feed em 3-6 days after their born???

Hey congrats kiddo! That's a nice healthy number of babies.

You feed them 3 to 6 hours after they are born. Sternfeldi babies are born hungry.

Have fun.

Thanks Trace! It was so unexpected because she was still eating like a horse days before. Well, the little guys are truly a blessing and have made me feel very successful. Hopefully some sales will come along with the little guys.
Cheers!

Does anyone know if pinheads are good to start the little guys on? catching ffruit flies seems far to difficult and no pet stores arounnd me sell em:/
so does anyone know if pin heads will do the job?
thankssss!!!

Yes i have used them because at the time they dropped i had no fruit flies they will not discriminate just as long as they are small enough . I would also make sure to dust them with a cal with d3

Okay awesome.
Tomorrow im headin out for some pinheads.
How do I make sure they all feed though. Theirs 15 of the little guys. I have a feeling their may be some overpowering.

and I hope this doesnt sound dumb but..is it possible if two babies shoot for the same object their tongues can get stuck together? If so...what would I do?!?!?!?

let me know after 2 months....then I'll buy some off of ya
like they said.....hydrate the hell outa them.....and feed them lots of food......those seem to be the most important things with them......hydrate as in drench the little suckers!!!
Sorry I missed your call, I was at the show earlier....

Alright Brye. Sounds great. I heard there was more Chameleons there than ever. But im getting some Fruit Flies today for the first time. It may be a bit confusing and difficult to keep these FF's but im giving it a shot since a pet store down here is outta pin heads.
Wish me luck!

Why don't you clear the food question before they are born ? We all gave you several hints and now you are still asking about it...
Without an adequate maintenance they won't live long !

Okay. Thanks.
And I offered both fruit flies and pin heads. Only two of em looked at the food but the others didnt seem to care. Are they like still feeding on their membrane or whatever they were bron with/in???

Have patience they will feed just make sure your using calcium with d3. I dust fruit flies and dump them in a small strainer to shake the excess off

I would suggest she be bred again AFTER you raise this group up to a salable age, and only if you are successful in keeping them healthy and alive. That would be in September of this year.:D

Okay.
and how the hell do I dust the fruit flies. Their so tiny. wont the calcium dust be to heavy on their bodies and over-coat them???
