Rubbing his eye...

So Xeno, my fiance's cham has been rubbing his eye on branches and it looks like somethings stuck in it. Yesterday we took him to the vet and he said Xeno had an eye infectio, so he gave us some ointment to put on it 3 times a day. Xeno is continuing to rub his eye. When he does it we take him out of the cage so he stops, should we just let him incase he's trying to get whatever is in ther out? Or are we doing the right thing and taking him out?

If he has debris in his eye you can use a saline solution (not contact solution) to gently flush the eye out.

a good tool for a lot of rinsing issues is a curved tip dental syringe, just be careful not to use too much pressure

What plants do you have in his cage? Could any of them be toxic? Also has he shed recently? He could have a bit of shed lodged in his eye turret causing irritation. Can you post a photo.....it can tell a lot more than just describing it.

We have pothos and a schefflera. He hasn't shed lately. The vet said that something could have come of his a vine and went into his eye. He gave us stuff to put on it so it will come out.
