Just wanted to share these photos of Rosie the Phidippus Regius, She is about 10mm across I think, she's out and about quite a bit, yesterday she ate a stick insect- see photos- today a hatchling locust and a calciworm so quite an appetite- she is so sweet- these are the first photos I had where I can see her cute hairy little face- taken with an ipod. she's so gorgeous I feel I must get my paints out and try and paint her.

What about those lashes and those eyes!

Well I have two small ones-both unconfirmed and one larger- who has made a moulting silk i think- and he's confirmed male- so hopefully he and Rosie can get something going later on in the year.

I don't know a whole lot about spiders, but there is a mostly black one that looks like that and hops around regularly between my back patio and kitchen. Terrifies my girlfriend, but i won't let her kill it. They look so cool, i love how they move.
