Rieppeleon sexing help

I picked up this Rieppeleon brevicaudatus at a show a few weeks back. It was sold to me as a captive bred male, but I'm not confident in that. I'd like to get a second opinion on the sex before I seek out companions. It does have a longer tail (consistent with a male), but it also has a more rounded body type and very rarely shows any patterns (see last photo). It was fired up for this photo shoot, but 99% of the time in its enclosure it shows no patterns (again, see last photo). I suspect that a male would display the typical stripes more often, no? Thoughts?

I believe you do have a male. He may be a little round, well fed ;), but his had characteristic spikes of a male and that nice long tail. I don't claim to be an expert but this is my opinion.
The male below and in my avatar show the same spines.

You can see one of my females below has kind of a long tail but does not have the same defined spines.
