I want to set up a system or find a system of Rieppeleon brevicaudatus breeders in this area to help support each other. I'm just starting to breed them and I would like to extend the captive breeding program of this particular species due to their life span and the recent import problems. Besides, I think that we can all agree that captive breeding is better for the species in this case anyway.
Besides getting help for problems, there can be a sharing of genetics to prevent inbreeding which weakens the species as a whole.
These goals may be too lofty but it's something that I want to try.
I'm by no means an expert in this field but I'm learning and want to learn with the rest of you. Please correct anything that I have wrong and give me any ideas that you have on this project. I don't have to head it up or anything. I would much rather see it as a conglomerate of people all working together as needed.
