Rescued 2 more Veileds from schoolyard today!!!

Yup! Rescued 2 more baby Veiled Chameleons from my moms schoolyard today. I named the male Hansel and the female Gretel. Seems appropriate.
Larger one is a male and smaller is a female.

We have now rescued a total of 3 Veileds from the schoolyard. Our 1st girl rescued 3 months ago is doing awesome!
I am amazed that these 2 new chams have survived the past cold weather that hit Southern California. These guys are champs!
Both chams are eating small crickets and like being held in the sun.

We are going to keep the male and give up the female for free to whoever can care for her. The female just shed.
Please PM me if you are interested in adopting a very young female Veiled. Located in Orange, CA 15 mins from the Honda Center and Angel Stadium.

Those are almost newborns, they are tiny. Does a classroom in the school have veiled's. I commend you for rescuing them. Keep up the good work. If none of the people seeing this thread want the female, I can help you find it a home.

These little fellas look like newborns but I'm so glad we have people like you who will help them out and rescue them and find them a great home. I would take the female, but my I just got my first chameleon yesterday actually and I don't have another cage for her. Good luck finding her a new home!

How is it that these babies are out in the wilds of California? Has so many people let them loose that they now roam free there like the iguanas in Florida? In fact I think Florida have veileds that roam wild also.

RIGHT!? i tripped out on that also.. seems like the winter would have taken them.. especially that small! maybe they used teamwork at night and cuddled lol

I have an idea - good or bad- but because there ARE these chams around there- would the school be willing to take one in their science class ? then the kids can learn about them, and the little girl would have a home- but I do of course know the teacher would have to be made aware of the work / commitment of a cham- and someone would have to be willing to take it in the summer- but maybe offer them the idea ??

I wish we had wild chams in Ohio lol

School is located in Orange, CA! Its called Taft Elementary.
I have been there 3 times and spent a few hours looking for more with no luck!

That was actually one of my first thoughts, but they do not have a dedicated science teacher for the elementary school. It only goes up to 3rd grade I think.
My mom took our 4 month old rescued to school today so she can share with the kids how large she has gotten since they last saw her. Can't wait to hear what they think.

what about the High School ? if it were warmer, I could see about our school, and I know a few ppl here who (in Ohio) may be interested , but can you ship such a little one in the winter?

Just wanted to let everyone know that all 3 rescued veiled chameleons that we found at my moms school were adopted out locally to a very good home!
I know they will be well taken care of!

If we find anymore Veileds I will post it up!
