Rescue with possible fungus?

On Sunday I picked up a 5 year old male veiled who was being housed in pretty bad conditions. Original post here: https://www.chameleonforums.com/rescue-advice-please-95698/

He is in the middle of a full body shed which started at least 2.5 weeks ago. I have been spraying him a lot since I've gotten him to try to help him finish. My concern is, he has a few spots on his head that are white and/or black that almost look fuzzy like mold. Is it possible he has mold/fungus growing on him? I tried to get a picture of it, but couldn't get my crappy camera to focus in close enough  Maybe because his shed was stuck on him for so long? Is there anything I can do? Should I give it a few more days to see how it goes hoping that his new better living conditions might help it go away on its own? Is there anything I can put on it to be proactive? Some sort of over the counter fungal medication? Or just get him to the vet and not take any chances?

I have personally never seen mold grow on skin but it is possible if you are not allowing enough ventilation + drying out between mistings. I would like to see pics of this.

If this is the case you need to rethink how you are delivering water, drainage and cage ventilation. His cage needs to dry out completely between mistings, drainage and a full screen cage will help.

I have only had this guy for 3 days and rescued him from someone who had no idea what the enclosure should be like. So I don't think it's my housing that is the issue. When I got him, he had this already. His prior owner had him in an enclosure that was all plexiglass in a very musty basement, so if he has a mold or fungus issue, it wouldn't surprise me. What I am wondering is, if he does, will being in a proper set up now be enough be enough to clear it up or should I take more aggressive action.

I dont have any experience with mold on the skin so i am assuming that if you provide proper environment (screen cage, humidity, drainage or water drying between mistings) from here on out. The mold shouldnt be able to grow. If it is mold, you can simply wipe it off with a wash cloth and try to keep that area dry.

Also, I know just how paranoid having a chameleon makes people :D (especially considering the conditions you found him in). I would actually be very surprised if it was actually mould. Stuck shed or normal colouring would be my guess. My male Veiled seems to have a kind of velvety texture to his black spots/stripes when he's excited.

Yeah, you could be right. I'm a bit of a bleeding heart and just feel so sorry for this guy and the crappy life he's had so far. I might just be a little paranoid  I'll keep an eye on him. If the spots don't get any "worse" or go away, I'll know he's fine. Thanks for all the input. It's great to have this place as a resource :)
