Reptisun 5.0 Tube vs. CFL

What is the difference. I know that the old CFLs were bad but are the new ones with the new packaging just as good as the tubes? Why or why not?

Why yes I have thank you. It works just fine. I'd be happy to continue testing it for you.

Unfortunately I didn't feel that any of the results answered my questions. I think it would helpful if there was a sticky on the forum about Key topics such as lighting of which the products are constantly evolving and changing so a thread from 2009 that refers to a bulb that is no longer manufactured is not very helpful.

Right, the new CFLs seem to be fine. Also some brands were never reported as a problem (I believe reptiGLO brand of CFLs have likely been fine all along - at least I used them without issue).

The "shape" and intesity or density of the lighting and UVB entering the cage is different from linear tube to CFL, and is also effected by the type of fixture. I honestly dont believe reptiglo is okay as a compact bulb.
Just from my experience with it :/

So right now I have ZooMed Reptisun 5.0 CFL (the new ones) in the Deep dome light fixtures. Should I go get the tubes instead? Also because the Reptisuns have UVB and UVA do I need a separate heat bulb with UVA if its staying in the low to mid 80s during the day? or is my lighting setup ok?

Also, I am currently resting the domes right on the screen. Is this ok?
