Reptile Tank/Cage Question

Today I picked up a 40 gallon reptile tank with sliding "screen" top off of Craigslist for my Beardie. Does anyone have one of these that can tell me if the screen is really soft? I am wondering if the previous owner re-screened it maybe? With the Beardie I use 100 watt bulbs to keep her temps high 90's and I am wondering if the bulb will melt this soft mesh.

slides in from the front? if it's the original material it should be ok. I have used 100 watt bulbs on them before with no issues. If it's not then all you can do is test it outside

Not sure what a picture will do-but it is exactly like the ones you can buy at Petsmart.

Yes-slides in from the front. It really does not look like it has been rescreened as the whole tank is in excellent shape. But the mesh is far softer than what is on my screen cages. I have had a 100 watt bulb in a dome for over an hour and all seems well.

I had a few of them for my beardies and they worked fine. They now house leopard tortoises

Oh. When you said it looked like they replaced it, it may just be since its used. I have a 40 gallon tank, that has the screen looking a little loose, but its just from use. Should be just fine.
