Anyone know any harm involved with using tapwater for the habbamist?

I just bought ReptiCare today, I was going to add a few drops in tonight..

Drop it in where? If you cham is drinking on his own you won't need this, and you don't want to add anything to the mister...it will just gum up the nozzles and make a mess on your plants.

If your hygrometer is the type that "saves" the high and low humidity measurements you can check to see how high it got right after the misting cycle. It might be drying out very quickly if the room humidity level is low. And, if there are more surfaces to hold the spray (leaves, surface of the potting soil, plastic on the cage sides) it will take longer for it all to evaporate. This will slow down the drying rate as well. But it does sound as if your humidity meter is toast.
