Is the Exo-Terra Repti-Glo 5.0 ok for my 2 month old veiled?

Yes it is. I recommend changing it at the 6 month mark.

My last Chameleon lived for nearly 7 years with one of these over his head every day of his life, i would say just make sure you change it every six months, and use a reflector if possible.

Mine are currently 81 F

Coil CFL or tube?
Ive used the reptiglo tubes for years with success. Jury appears to still be out regarding their CFLs.

If you have a screen between the bulb and the reptile, be sure to have a reflector and change at 6 months. Consider a ReptiSUN in future. Why reptisun is better is explained well in this older thread: https://www.chameleonforums.com/repti-sun-5-0-a-13239/

They are known to have caused eye-sight damage.

i called reptum 5.0 company and they said it doesnt but i was tol otherwise today and they got kinda angry about coils

Until there is independant testing, Im just avoiding CFLs for now. Y risk it?

yeah i kno i have had them unknowingly since july but mine are fine ....and when i talked to the company they did testing and got back to me a month or so later idk what to believe or think
