Reinventing Jacksons Enclosure Furnishings

I originally used real wood branches for the main climbing support system when I first set up.. I also used about 20ft of plastic/silk leaf vines and the fake bendable vines to fill in around the enclosure.. he seems to be quite happy with what is in there now but at this point its been set up for about 2 years and the branches are basically decaying and the climbing arena is slowly collapsing in on itself... I have decided to "reinvent" the entire inside set up (yes I know it will upset the Jackson's for a while but I'm hoping he will enjoy the new better once he gets used to it).. the question I have is the use of bamboo "poles" for a support structure... is this good or bad?? the poles I purchased are extremely smooth so I roughed them up a bit with a bit of sanding the shiny off of them... I'm also installing 2 med to lrg live plants as well... one is a golden pothos and am planning on allowing it to vine out to eventually "fill" their home...
any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated...

Hey there!! I've found that my chams have a tough time climbing on shiny surfaces. I've heard of people that have bamboo and their chams have slipped and fallen.They just can't get their little nails into it to hold onto. If you can wrap the bamboo with vines or something grippy then they should be fine. I use real branches that I got from outside which I washed with an antibacterial dish soap. The Pothos plants are a great idea. I tied them into position with a little high test fishing line and then they just grew and I kept winding them around the branches.

Basically all my cages have bamboo in them. Just make sure they are not too large in diameter. Secure footing. They very quickly become etched enough from your cham's claws. I use the bend-a-branch to connect the horizontal branches and for vertical travels. Pothos will be perfect.

I appreciate tall the suggestions... I did actually sand down the bamboo so it was not longer shiny and it helped create a rough texture for them to grab onto... I did test out one just to see if they would even notice it... when I got home the male was all the way to the top on the bamboo.. actually hunting a cricket that was crawling across the screen top... so I guess it works..lol
going to try to submit some pics after I get it done this weekend and see if it looks too "busy" or if there is anything I might want to add...
